Buddy Boone-(D. 1986 at 53) Upon turning pro in the fall of 1952, Boone had hoped to land a roster spot in the NHL but it was not to be. He accepted a deal with the AHL's St. Louis Flyers. He moved around with several other minor-league teams before getting the chance to play in the NHL when the Boston Bruins came calling in the 1957 playoffs. Boston called upon Boone as an injury replacement and he suited up for ten games that spring, notching his first goal. Thanks to his grit and determination in the playoffs, Boone earned himself a longer look in 1957-58 and he was used for 34 games where he collected five goals and eight points. He was asked to play a defensive role with the Bruins, who had plenty of offensive talent with the likes of Bronco Horvath, Don McKenny and a young Johnny Bucyk. Although he played his role effectively, it was not good enough to earn him a full-time roster spot, and in fact it was the last time Boone was seen in the NHL despite being claimed by the New York Rangers in 1965. We offer an original 8x10 signed photo of Boone in Bruins uniform. Try finding another signed photo on Boone $95

Babe Siebert-(D. 1939) Easter Sunday, April 17, 1938 menu from the cruise ship R.M.S. Ausonia signed by Marty Barry, Syd Howe, Larry Aurie, Walter Buswell, Red Wings captain Ebbie Goodfellow, Al Motter, Doug Young, Carl Liscombe, etc. The cruise was to show NHL hockey in Europe and featured the Detroit Red Wings and Montreal Canadiens. It marked the first time that NHL teams were to play overseas. Among the Montreal Canadiens was the ill-fated Babe Siebert, who would drown a year later, a few days before he was to become the team's coach (leading to the first NHL All-Star Game to be played in his honor). The teams left by train on April 5th to Halifax, before embarking on the cruise. On April 19th they arrived in London. They played before a sellout crowd at London's Empress Hall. After playing a second game in London they shifted to Paris for an additional 3 exhibitions. Then it was back to England for 4 more games before returning home. There were thoughts of going to Nazi Germany but those plans were cancelled. Signatures in black pen have a thick, bold flow and average 8-9/10. 8.5 x 10.5". Menu has a delicate Oriental motif on the cover depicting a young lady with a parasol strolling through a garden. "Easter Greetings" and the Cunard White Star cruise ship logo printed in gold against a lime green background.. $2250

Bill Stewart-(D.1964) had a long, strange trip through sports. Stewart was a minor league OF/P from 1913 to 1917, mostly in northeastern leagues. Stewart was the first International League player to enlist during WW I, when he joined the Navy in June 1917. Stewart was apparently on the Chicago White Sox roster in 1919 but did not get in any games due to an injured pitching arm suffered in the winter when he fell off a step. He was released to the Louisville Colonels in May. He continued as an OF/P in the minors through 1922. Stewart also was the coach at Boston University in 1921, managed a semi-pro teams in 1924-1925, and scouted for the Boston Red Sox in 1925-1926. Stewart returned to the minors as player/manager of the Nashua Millionaires in 1927 and the Waterbury Brasscos for part of 1928. He managed a semi-pro team in 1929. Stewart began his umpiring career in the Eastern League in 1930. He worked the International League in 1931 and the New York-Penn Leaguein 1932-1933. Stewart was a National League umpire for 3,195 games over 22 seasons between 1933 and 1955. Stewart was a well-respected umpire. He worked five World Series. He also called to work four All-Star Games in his career. In 1938, he was the home plate umpire for Johnny Vander Meer's second no hitter. In the off-season, Stewart was involved in the National Hockey League. In 1928, he became the first American referee in the NHL. He was an NHL referee for 11 seasons (1928-37, 1939-41). In 1937-38 and 1938-39, he was behind the bench as the Chicago Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup, becoming the first American coach to win the Stanley Cup. Stewart coached the Massachusetts Institute of Technology hockey team for seven years. In 1957, he coached the United States national hockey team.
