Graded NM-MT 8 by PSA. No examples have been graded higher by PSA. Outstanding high-grade example of #138 Herb Pennock from the 1933 Goudey set. Hall of Famer Herb Pennock is captured in a throwing pose set against a striking blue background. Miller Huggins once called Pennock the greatest left-hander in history and if his World Series record is any indication, Huggins may have been correct. Pennock seemed to be at his best during the postseason, as evidenced by his unblemished record of 5-0 with a 1.95 ERA in World Series games. He finished his career with 241 wins, and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1948, the year of his death. The card is bright and crisp, perfectly clean, has sharp corners, an extremely strong image, and a virtually flawless off-white reverse. Excellent centering.
