Two autographs, and a fantastic inscription, from the generous Georgia Peach. Cobb's perfect black ink finds a home on the title page of the little booklet he wrote for Hillerich & Bradsby. The inscription reads, "To Gary Hodrau From His Friend Ty Cobb. Much luck Gary, work and practice and you might be in Major Leagues, Ty." Well, we've checked the records, and no such name is listed in the Majors, but perhaps Gary didn't read the whole booklet. It should be noted that the cover actually has two words, "To Steve," written in Cobb's hand and later crossed out, so perhaps Steve didn't show the promise that Gary did. Booklet itself shows light wear but still displays very nicely, particularly with the photo of Speaker, Ruth and Cobb on the page that faces the inscription.
