Van Brocklin’s greatest day as a passer came in 1951 when he threw for a record 554 yards against the New York Yanks. It was also in 1951 that Van Brocklin threw a 73-yard pass to Tom Fears that gave the Rams a 24-17 victory over the Browns and the only NFL title the Rams had won since moving to Los Angeles.
Offered is an original 8x10 photo stamped October 1, 1951. This was most likely taken right before the Yanks game (they played the Yanks on September 28th). In this photo he is wearing #25. Vic Stein Photographers out of Los Angeles is credited (stamped) with taking this picture. Stein at one time was the official Rams photographer. Gorgeous shot!
