The 1972 Topps Baseball set featured a psychedelic theme which would have been more fitting for the 1967 set, but still appropriate for the time period. Ballplayers still wore fu manchu mustaches and many had mutton chop sideburns.
Series II featured Rollie Fingers and the Dave Kingman rookie card. According to Mark Murphy’s guide about unopened packs (put out many years ago), these packs contained 30-33 cards and held a stick of gum. We haven’t seen many ’72 Topps cello packs come up for sale. This one is quite the rarity today!
