Dave Zinkoff (May 15, 1910 – December 25, 1985) was a sports public address announcer, memorable for his inimitable and colorful delivery. He worked for the Philadelphia Phillies at Shibe Park in the 1940s, the Philadelphia Warriors, the Philadelphia 76ers as well as various colleges and boxing and wrestling matches held at the Philadelphia Convention Hall. Best remembered as the announcer for Wilt Chamberlain's 100 point game !!!!!!!!!!! He goes so far back that he was one of the original employees of the Philadelphia SPHAS.  He also worked for Abe Saperstein and the Harlem Globetrotters.

He writes to a friend, Hymie about their Western Trip (the Philadelphia Sphas did play the Oshkosh All-Stars on January 4th.  He writes, “How are you kid? What a Western Trip! Won 4 out of 7 and what sweet Tomatoes!  Thanks for the info.  I’ll use it in my next few issues.

Sorry we had to show your boys the proper method of basketball playing. Sincerely, David Zinkoff.

Historic basketball content.  We must presume Hymie was the coach of one of the teams the Sphas played against that season.
