This is a plaque that was presented to Reggie White for winning the NFL Defensive Player of the Year for 1987 as voted on by members of the Vince Lombardi Committee. The plaque was given to White at the Vince Lombardi Celebrity Golf Classic, held May 22-24, 1988. The plaque has the golf tournament logo at the top of the wood base, with an engraved plaque in the middle. The plaque has White's name and a quote to honor the spirit of the award, followed by the phrase, "'A Job Well Done' - The Vince Lombardi Committee," and the dates of the golf tournament. This is one of the Top Awards that a defensive player in the NFL can achieve annually. This is the first we’ve ever seen publicly offered for sale!
The entire plaque measures 14" by 19.5," and weighs 6.5 pounds. This item comes with an LOA from the widow of Reggie White.
