In 1972 during Roberto Clemente’s last at bat; he got his 3000th hit before his untimely demise in a plane crash on New Year’s Eve (December 31, 1972). Clemente received accolade upon accolade during his baseball career. He won the MVP award, helped guide the Bucs to 2 World Championships, named to 15 All-Star teams, 4x NL batting champion, 12x gold glove winner, and was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame just 6 months after his death.

He was one of the great humanitarians to ever grace the baseball diamond and he died the same way he played the game; creating excellence.

Offered is an Eastern Airlines logo stamped baseball. Clemente had a promotional deal with the airline and ironically would perish in a plane crash just a few years later. This circa-1970 baseball has his blue signature adoring the sweet spot. It comes with a PSA/DNA full letter grading the signature a 7 and the ball a 4.

Just like Ruth and Gehrig single signed balls, the demand exceeds the supply. Yet these are much rarer than the Bambino’s single signed spheres!

Letter of Authenticity from Richard Albersheim and full PSA/DNA COA.
