Roger Maris swings for the fences and blasts his 61st homer of the season to break Babe Ruth’s record. This feat occurred on Oct 1, 1961 in the 4th inning off of Red Sox pitcher Tracey Stallard. Awesome shot of Maris in full extension making history!!
This original (9 x 7 inches) UPI glossy photo is in excellent condition with just some minor creasing in the corners. Markings on the reverse include some notations in blue pen, a UPI stamp, and a Cleveland Press stamp dated 10/3/1961. Epic Shot!!
