Ruth Osborn (D. 1994) was an American athlete who competed mainly in the discus. She competed for the United States in the 1932 Summer Olympics held in Los Angeles, where she won the Silver medal behind teammate Lillian Copeland.

This Shelbyville, MO native also played professional basketball in the 1930’s with the Naismith Hall of Fame all-female basketball team, “The All-American Redheads.” Every player on this team was recognized as one of the nation’s leading athletes. She played alongside Hazel Vickers, Peggy Lawson, Vera Dunford, and Kay Kirpatrick.

We offer a nice grouping from her estate that encompasses numerous pieces from her basketball days and her days as an Olympian. It includes 4 certificates for her preliminary tryouts for the 1932 Olympics, 2 certificates for athletic achievement in high school, 3 full tickets to games with the All American Redheads, several original photos, a fork and knife used during a cruise lining expedition to the Orient, several new articles, athletics ribbons, several postcards, a 1932 Olympic report (which was similar to a media guide), and 2 broadside posters with Ruth Osborn when she was with the All American Redheads. Very rare one of a kind grouping. This is a treasure trove fitting of the finest Olympic or professional basketball collections. Historic!!
