Walter Payton (D. 1999 at age 45) Known as “Sweetness,” during his 13 years in the NFL he was selected to 9 Pro Bowls, held the all-time rushing yards record, touchdowns, carries, yards from scrimmage, all-purpose yards, and many other categories (some of which have since been broken). He was a 3x NFL MVP, 1x Super Bowl champion, and a member of both the College and Pro Football Hall of Fames.

Gale Sayers is a College and Pro Football HOFer whose all too brief NFL career lasted from 1965-71. In that time, he was selected to 4 Pro Bowls, was a 5x All-Pro, and the 1965 NFL rookie of the year, plus a zillion other accolades. If it weren’t for injuries, Sayers would have most likely become the grizzled veteran who would have been competing with Walter Payton when he came into the league in 1975.

Dick Butkus is a member of both the College and Pro Football HOF, is an 8x Pro Bowl selection and a 6x All-Pro selection. Butkus is considered by many the greatest linebacker in NFL history. It can easily be argued that he was the NFL’s greatest linebacker of the 1960s.

Offered is an “Authentic” full sized Ridell Chicago Bears football helmet signed by Walter Payton in gold ink that he also wrote his #34 and his 16,726 (rushing yards), Gale Sayers in silver pen with an added HOF 77, and Dick Butkus on the opposite side in silver pen with his #51 and HOF 79. Obtained by our consignor at a card show signing back in the 1990s.

Letter of Authenticity from Richard Albersheim
