George Sosnak Hand Painted Baseballs Self-taught as an artist, George Sosnak (1924-1992) had devoted his life to the game as a fan, player and minor league umpire, even when that meant holding a day job as well. His best-known works are actual manufactured baseballs intricately decorated for a special occasion with India ink and then hand colored. He made around 800 during his lifetime. His work is on display in such museums as the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY and at the American Folk Museum in NYC. His works are the real deal. When you buy a Sosnak ball you not only buy a one of a kind piece of baseball historical memorabilia, but you are buying artwork that has been displayed in some of the finest institutions in the world. Sosnak 1968 Tigers-(World Champs!) This ball is from 1968 and was from spring training featuring the Tigers logoand a generic Tigers player on a Florida State League ball. Signed by Sosnak and 19 members of the club including: Mayo Smith, Dick McAuliffe, Don Wert, Jim Northrup, Mickey Stanley, Cy Williams (D. 1974), and Al Kaline. $995 Sosnak 1974 Tigers-This ball is from 1974 and was from spring training featuring the Tigers logo and Al Kaline with his lifetime stats (truly a testament to HOF'er - Al Kaline). Signed by Sosnak and 20 members of the team including: Al Kaline, Norm Cash, Lolich, Feehan, Gates Brown, and Ralph Houk $1295 Sosnak 1974 Tigers B- This ball is from 1974 and features 23 members of the team. It has incredible detail with the Tigers logo and features a portrait of manager - Ralph Houk. Signed by Sosnak.
