The Georgia Peach, otherwise known as Ty Cobb (D 1961) retired from Major League baseball as the all-time hits leader and would hold that record until he was bested by Pete Rose over a century later. Cobb was part of the induction class into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936.
Offered is a slightly cut down government postcard from the infamous Roy Pitts collection with a 2 cent stamp attached dated 1956. It’s signed in black steel tipped fountain pen.
