Bobby Mattick (1915-2004) was a shortstop who played five MLB seasons (1938-1942) with the Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds, later becoming a legendary scout and Blue Jays executive.

Playing Career: Debuted May 5, 1938, with Chicago Cubs at age 22. Career-high 128 games in 1940 as Cubs' regular shortstop. Finished with .233 career average, 161 hits, 0 home runs over five seasons. Traded to Cincinnati Reds after 1940 season with Jim Gleeson for Billy Myers.

Post-Playing Legacy: Legendary scout who signed Hall of Famer Frank Robinson, plus Curt Flood, Vada Pinson, Rusty Staub, Don Baylor, and Gary Carter.

Offered is a cracked Louisville Slugger Hillerich & Bradsby 125 game used professional model bat that measures 35” and 34.2 oz. in weight. The bat has been repaired (at the time) with nails. Well worn and used.
