1930s Fred Bedore Louisville Slugger Game Used Bat #2 Portland Beavers PCL Star

Frederick Bedore (D. 1983) was a minor league infielder (primarily third base) and manager. He played in 1926 and from 1928 to 1940, batting .290 with 1,690 hits in 1,607 games. He spent 11 seasons at AA, which was the highest classification of his era. In 1936, with the Portland Beavers, he hit .337 with 212 and 49 doubles in 639 at-bats. That was perhaps his best season.

He managed the Waterloo Hawks for part of the 1940 season, replacing John Fitzpatrick.

Offered is a cracked Louisville Slugger Hillerich & Bradsby 125 game used professional model bat that measures 35” and 34.3 oz. in weight.

The bat derives from the collection of former Major League baseball player and PCL legend, Jigger Statz.
We presume that this was obtained by Statz when he played against the Beavers in the 1930s.
