Offered is a set that is FRESH to the market and comes from the same collection as the 1955 Bowman, 1956 Topps, and 1957 Topps football sets that have been signed and offered in this auction. An enterprising collector in the San Francisco Bay area obtained all of these autographs in person at Candlestick Park. Unlike many suspect autographed cards that are often found in the market, we feel that with 100% certainty that everything was signed in-person and not done by the stroke of a forger’s hand. If you’re looking for a vintage signed set that was obtained during the player’s career, this is the set for you.

Offered is the set of 132 cards. A total of 91 cards have been autographed and encapsulated by PSA/DNA as authentic. The unsigned cards in the set are included with the set. Keep in mind that there are several team cards in the set that an autograph collector wouldn’t have bothered to have signed. Gorgeous set with vibrant colors!

Highlights include HOFers:

Joe Schmidt, Lenny Moore, Yale Lary, Johnny Unitas (SECOND YEAR CARD), Chuck Bendarik, Dick Stanfel, Lou Groza, Mike McCormack, Jim Brown (ROOKIE), Bart Starr (SECOND YEAR CARD), Jack Christiansen (D. 1986), Jack Butler (D. 2013), Lou Creekmur, Y.A. Tittle, Leo Nomellini, Sonny Jurgensen (ROOKIE), Joe Perry, Jim Ringo, Les Richter, Art Donovan, Bill George (D. 1982), Tommy McDonald, Ollie Matson, and George Blanda.

Super Tough Non-Pro Football HOFers signed cards include:

Hopalong Cassady (Heisman Winner), Ray Renfro (D. 1997), Sid Youngelman (D. 1991), Jim Doran (D. 1994), John Carson (D. 2009), Earl Morrall (D. 2014), Joe Marconi (D. 1992), Lamar McHan, Woody Lewis (D. 2000), Bobby Walston (D. 1987), Larry Strickland (D. 1979 at age 47), Matt Hazeltine (D. 1987), John Olszewski, WILLIE GALIMORE (D. 1964 at age 29 on his way to training camp – HOLY GRAIL of the set – College Football HOF), and Dick Nolan (D. 2007).

This is the first and most complete signed ’58 Topps football that has ever been offered for public auction! We estimate the value of this set $7500 – 9500.

Feel free to contact us and we’d be happy to send a detailed spread sheet of all the signed and unsigned cards.
