Napoleon Lajoie, hitter extraordinaire, sublime fielder, manager and executive, has been described as “the first superstar in American League history.” And indeed, to concentrate on his hitting or his fielding is to miss his all-around talent as a player. Elected to the HOF in 1937; he passed away in 1959.

Offered is a cut signature from an album page that has been signed and dated 6/12/39 - the very day that the Baseball Hall of Fame opened! This steel tipped tipped fountain pen signature has been adhered to a 3x5 index card.
