In 1942, the Bruins were 7-4 and took 1st place in the Pacific Coast conference. This was the Bruin's first ever bowl team but they lost in the Rose Bowl to Georgia. This is a UCLA team signed album page with 14 autographs front and back that includes:
-Head Coach Babe Horrell (College Football HOF – D. 1992)
-Assistant coach Ray Richards (D. 1974), first team All American player at Nebraska 1927-29 and played professional football with the Frankford Yellowjackets, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, L.A. Bulldogs and coached with the Baltimore Colts, LA Rams, Chicago Cardinals. He was also a head coach for the Packers. He was also a professional wrestler
-Herb Wiener
-Ed Tyler
-Charles Fears, captain (drafted by the Lions)
-Lynn Compton who was portrayed in the HBO mini-series – “Band of Brothers” by Neal McDonough – how cool is this?
-Albert Solari
-Albert Sparlis (D. 2005) College FB HOF & played for the Green Bay Packers
-Milt Smith, (D. 1988) Philadelphia Eagles
-George Phillips (Cleveland Rams)
-Vic Smith (drafted by the NY Giants)
-Jack Lescoulie (drafted by the Lions) D. 1987 – became an announcer for the Today Show in the 50’s and 60’s.
