1920s Murderer’s Row Phenom Yankees Herb Pennock HOF Original TYPE I Photo

Known as "the Squire of Kennett Square," Herb Pennock was regarded as one of the greatest left-handed pitchers in baseball history. Signed by Connie Mack at 18, he later blossomed as the ace of the powerhouse New York Yankees teams of the 1920s, winning 241 games lifetime with a 3.60 ERA. A key contributor to four Yankees World Series titles, he went a perfect 5-0 in Fall Classic appearances. Pennock was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1948, the same year he passed away.
