Earle Combs (D. 1976) spent his entire career as the Yankees' leadoff center fielder (1924-1935), anchoring the legendary 1927 Murderers' Row club. He posted a .325 career average with three AL triples titles, including a league-record 23 in 1927. A three-time World Series champion, Combs hit .350 in four Fall Classics. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1970.
