Wayne Vernal Millner was a two-time Notre Dame All-American and the hero of the famous Ohio State upset in 1935. He was a fierce competitor who was at his best in crucial games. He caught 55-yardand 78-yard TD passes in the 1937 NFL championship. He starred on four Redskins divisional title teams and was the top Redskin receiver at retirement with 124 catches. His career was interrupted by Navy service. He was a player-coach in his final 1945 season.
