The 1935 Oakland Oaks finished 91–83, placing third in the Pacific Coast League under manager Ossie Vitt. An affiliate of the New York Yankees, the Oaks played at Oaks’ Park and drew more than 122,000 fans. Oakland fielded a strong, well-balanced club, combining solid pitching with steady offense, and benefitted from several players who would go on to or return from the major leagues. Though they didn’t capture the pennant, the Oaks remained one of the PCL’s most competitive and respected clubs during the mid-1930s.
