Dorothy "Dottie" Green (1921-1992)was a catcher for the Rockford Peaches from 1943-1947 in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. A Natick, Massachusetts native and former Boston Olympettes player, Green was one of the original AAGPBL players recruited in 1943. She hit.140 over her career but excelled defensively, leading all catchers with a.962 fielding percentage in 1944. Green won a championship with Rockford in 1945 under manager Bill Allington. After a serious knee injury ended her playing career in 1947, she became a team chaperone until the league folded in 1954, participating in all 12 seasons of the AAGPBL.Mary Pratt (1918-2020)was a left-handed pitcher who played from 1943-1947 in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. A Boston University graduate and physical education teacher from Quincy, Massachusetts, Pratt was one of the original AAGPBL players recruited from the Boston Olympettes in 1943. She had her breakout season in 1944 with the Kenosha Comets, winning 21 games and throwing a no-hitter while leading the team to the championship series. Known for her effective slingshot windup, Pratt struggled in later seasons but continued teaching until 1986, winning 10 Massachusetts softball championships as a coach.
