1948 Babe Ruth Family Sympathy Appreciation Card Sent to Mourners

Presented is a 1948 Family Sympathy Appreciation Card from the family of "The Great Bambino," Babe Ruth.

Following the passing of baseball's most beloved luminary, the Ruth family found itself recipient to an unending stream of condolences. The offered memento is an example of the sympathy cards mailed by the family to those individuals who remembered and revered the diamond great. The white card with black lettering reads: "The family of the late George Herman Ruth acknowledges with grateful appreciation the kind expression of your sympathy."

Measuring 3.5 by 4.5 inches, the card displays a generally clean appearance with a single minor soiling mark on the face.
