The 1948 Hollywood Stars finished sixth in the Pacific Coast League with an 84–104 record, playing before strong crowds at Gilmore Field. Managed at various points by Jimmy Dykes, Lou Stringer, and Mule Haas, the Stars displayed solid fan appeal despite on-field struggles. Affiliated with the Chicago White Sox, the club mixed veteran leadership with emerging talent, drawing more than 416,000 fans while competing in one of the PCL’s most competitive eras.
