Offered is an original TYPE 1 photograph measuring 8" x 10" in size showing the Pirates Baseball team along with several minor leaguers and team executives and coaches awaiting to board the Pirates buses en route to spring training which was held in Santa Monica, CA.Most of the team would take the train out west (they took the buses to the train station).Fantastic shot that combines vintage automotive imagery, downtown Pittsburgh as seen in 1948, and dozens of hungry ballplayers; many just back from the war; hoping to make the club!
