The 1948 San Diego Padres had an 83-105 record, finishing 7th in the PCL. Despite their finish, they were loaded with future and former Major League players. Significantly, they had Johnny Ritchey, who broke the PCL’s color barrier with the Padres in 1948; appearing in 103 games and batting .323.
