The 1950 San Francisco Seals finished 100–100 under manager Lefty O’Doul, powered by star slugger Les Fleming, who hit 25 homers with 138 RBI and a .292 average, and Dino Restelli’s added power. Chet Johnson led the pitching staff with 22 wins, supported by Al Lien and Manny Pérez, who posted a 3.33 ERA. Backed by a roster filled with future or former major leaguers, the Seals drew over 377,000 fans to Seals Stadium.

Feldman earned his first major league win in his second start, throwing a 4–0 shutout against the Boston Braves in the second game of a doubleheader at the Polo Grounds on September 21, 1941. With All-Star catcher Harry Danning working behind the plate, the game is believed to feature the first all-Jewish battery in Major League Baseball history.
