The 1956 Seattle Rainiers finished 91–77, claiming second place in the Pacific Coast League. Managed by Luke Sewell and Bill Brenner, the club played at Sick Stadium as the Cincinnati Redlegs affiliate. Seattle drew 256,625 fans, averaging 3,055 per game. Strong pitching, steady defense, and timely hitting kept the Rainiers in contention throughout the year. The season marked one of the franchise’s better postwar campaigns and reinforced Seattle’s status as one of the PCL’s most loyal and supportive baseball markets.
