Gene Conley was a unique two-sport professional athlete who played baseball andbasketball simultaneously. In baseball, he was a 6'8" right-handed pitcher who playedfrom 1952-1963, winning the 1957 World Series with the Milwaukee Braves andearning three All-Star selections. He was the winning pitcher in the 1955 All-StarGame and struck out Ted Williams in the 1959 All-Star Game.In basketball, he played forward for the Boston Celtics (1952-53, 1958-1964),winning three consecutive NBA championships (1959-1961).
