The 1960 Sacramento Solons finished sixth in the PCL with a 73–81 record under manager Ernie White in their final season as a Milwaukee Braves affiliate. Sacramento struggled offensively, scoring a league-low 612 runs, but remained competitive behind solid pitching and a handful of standout performers.
Catcher-first baseman Jay Porter supplied the team’s primary power with 19 home runs and 75 RBI, while outfielder Jim Bolger led regulars with a .279 average. On the mound, Terry Fox and Winston Brown anchored the staff with 12 wins apiece, and Brown posted a team-best 3.36 ERA while logging heavy innings.
Playing at Moreing Field before loyal local crowds, the 1960 Solons mixed veterans and rising prospects, delivering a gritty season that closed out Sacramento’s original PCL era before the franchise relocated.
