The 1962-63 season was the Syracuse Nationals' final year before relocating to Philadelphia. The team finished 48-32, their best record in years, led by Hal Greer's outstanding play as he averaged over 22 points per game. Dolph Schayes, the franchise legend, was still contributing solid minutes in his veteran years. The Nationals made the playoffs as the second seed in the Eastern Division but were upset by the Cincinnati Royals in the first round. Despite the disappointing playoff exit, the strong regular season provided a positive farewell to Syracuse fans before the franchise became the Philadelphia 76ers the following season.Offered is an 8x10 inch team photo signed on the back in blue ink by 14 members of the team.Includes autographs of:A Bianchi (D. 2019)Danny Biasone(D. 1992) (Basketball HOF) was a visionary NBA owner who revolutionized basketball by inventing the 24-second shot clock in 1954. As founder and owner of the Syracuse Nationals (1946-1963), he recognized that slower gameplay was hurting fan interest. His shot clock concept was based on teams averaging 60 shots per game, calculating that 2,880 seconds divided by 120 shots (both teams) equaled 24 seconds. The innovation immediately transformed the NBA, increasing scoring from 79.5 to 93.1 points per game. Under his ownership, the Nationals won the 1955 NBA championship. Biasone's shot clock remains one of basketball's most important innovations.Len Chappell (D. 2018)Larry Costello(D. 2011) Basketball HOFDave GambeeHal Greer- (D. 2018) Basketball HOFAlex Hannum(D. 2002) Basketball HOFJohnny Red Kerr(D. 2009)Porter Meriwether (D. 2009)Paul NeumannJoe Roberts (D. 2022)Dolph Schayes(D. 2015) Basketball HOFLee ShafferChet Walker(D. 2024) Basketball HOFIncredibly rare team signed photo from a team's final year in existence with the super tough autograph of Daniel Danny Biasone!Full JSA LOA
