The 1964 Cleveland Indians finished 79–83, placing sixth in the American League. The club featured strong pitching led by Sam McDowell, who struck out 177, and veteran Luis Tiant, who debuted late in the year. Vic Davalillo hit .279, while Leon Wagner provided power with 31 home runs and 100 RBI. Despite solid individual performances, inconsistent offense and bullpen issues kept Cleveland out of contention.
