The 1965 White Sox finished 95–67, placing second in the American League behind the Minnesota Twins. Chicago thrived on elite pitching and strong defense, allowing the fewest runs in the league. Joe Horlen, Gary Peters, and Tommy John anchored the staff. Captain Ken Berry and shortstop Ron Hansen led a light offense, while newcomer Bill Skowron added power. Manager Al López kept the club in contention all summer, but a late surge was not enough to overtake Minnesota.
Offered is a gorgeous (like right out of the box) Official American League (Joe Cronin) baseball with 24 signatures that we’d rate a 9 out of 10. Doesn’t get any nicer than this one!
Autographs include:
Al Lopez (HOF), Smokey Burgess, Tom McGraw, Greg Bollo, Bruce Howard, Bill Skowron, Don Buford, Bob Locker, John Buzhardt, Eddie Fisher, Dan Cater, Eddie Fisher, Tony Cuccinello (coach), Johnny Romano, Juan Pizarro, Jim Schaffer (only year with White Sox was in 1965), Al Weiss, Floyd Robinson, Joe Horlen, Pete Ward, Gary Peters, Ron Hansen, and, Hoyt Wilhelm (HOF).
