Peter Tosh (1944–1987), born Winston Hubert McIntosh, was a pioneering Jamaican reggae singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Alongside Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer, he co-founded The Wailers, helping bring reggae to a global audience. After leaving the group, he built a successful solo career with classics including Legalize It and Equal Rights, using his music to champion justice, human rights, and social change. On September 11, 1987, Tosh was tragically killed during a home invasion in Kingston, Jamaica. His fearless artistry and activism remain central to reggae's enduring legacy.
