Ron Santo (D. 2010) was a standout third baseman best known for his career with the Chicago Cubs from 1960 to 1973. A nine time All Star, he won five consecutive Gold Gloves from 1964 to 1968 and was one of the premier defensive third basemen of his era. Santo finished with 342 home runs, 1,331 RBIs, and led the National League in walks four times. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2012.

Executed at a $90,000 salary, the contract reflects Santo near the height of his playing career, just two seasons removed from his peak salary and deep into a run that included nine All Star selections, five consecutive Gold Gloves from 1964 to 1968, 342 career home runs, and 1,331 RBIs.
