Joseph "Joe Bananas" Bonanno (1905–2002) was a Sicilian-born American mob boss who founded and led the Bonanno crime family of New York from 1931 to 1968, becoming one of the youngest crime family bosses in history at age 26. After a years-long power struggle known as the "Banana War," he retired to Arizona and later authored his 1983 autobiography, "A Man of Honor."
