1984 Nolan Ryan "On Top of the Mound" Spring Training Original TYPE I Snapshot Photo

Coming off his momentous 1983 season, Ryan’s 341 strikeouts were the most in the majors and one of the highest totals of his career. On April 27, 1983, he struck out 16 Montreal Expos, surpassing Walter Johnson to become baseball’s all-time strikeout leader.  At the age of 36 he still had a TOP 5 Finish in the Cy Young award voting.
