Al Bianchi (1932–2019) was an NBA player, coach, executive, and scout. Nicknamed “Blinky,” he played ten seasons with the Syracuse Nationals and Philadelphia 76ers from 1956–1966, scoring 5,550 career points. After retiring, he became the first head coach of the expansion Seattle SuperSonics and later guided the Virginia Squires to the ABA Eastern Division title, earning 1971 ABA Coach of the Year honors. Bianchi also served as general manager of the New York Knicks and spent decades as an NBA scout and executive.
Ike Richman (D. 1965) was General Counsel for the Philadelphia Warriors NBA basketball team. The year after the Warriors were sold and moved to San Francisco, Richman and Kosloff purchased the Syracuse Nationals, moved the team to Philadelphia and named them the Philadelphia 76ers. Ike Richman was Wilt Chamberlain's personal attorney and he was the attorney for several members of the team. Richman died suddenly on December 3, 1965 at a basketball game at the Boston Garden. At the time of his death, Wilt Chamberlain stated to the press that Ike Richman was like a father to him.
We offer a 76 ers payroll check dated December 16, 1963 paying Al Bianchi $713.74. This has signed on the back by Bianchi and front by owner, Ike Richman (who is a super tough autograph due to his early death).
Super cool relic from the Sixers first year in Philadelphia after moving from Syracuse (they were the Nationals)
BAS (Beckett) Authenticated Hologram attached to the back.
