Son of Philadelphia Athletics team founder, Ben Shibe; John D. Shibe became the president of the Philadelphia Athletics and was a partner in the A. J. Reach Company which made baseball equipment.He oversaw the business end, the "nuts and bolts," of the organization in the early 1900s. He is pictured here in this circa 1900 photo reproduction. It measures approximately 6.75" x 8" in size. Reverse notations include: Photographer stamps, editorial marking, photo stamps, written identification, affixed cutlines and a Sporting News Collection hologram.
