Bobby Wine (1938–2014) was a standout defensive shortstop best known for his career with the Philadelphia Phillies. He won three Gold Gloves (1961–1963) and was a 1964 All-Star, anchoring the infield during the Phillies’ 1964 pennant run. Wine was respected for leadership and glove work, later becoming a long-time major league coach.
Based on the markings on the knob (the number 4 is embossed in a dot matrix into the knob of this S44 model. This derived from the collection of a former minor league baseball player with a direct connection to the California Angels.
Presumably used by California Angels players during BP and possibly even in a game. Some nice to heavier usage.
