In March of 1964, the New York Mets (their first year in Shea Stadium) played a 3-game exhibition series (during spring training) against the Mexico City Tigres and the Mexico City Red Devils. The Dodgers would head south later in the month to tune up for their 1964 season. After spending his entire career with the Brooklyn/L.A. Dodgers, future Hall of Famer, Duke Snider was sold to the New York Mets in 1963 and still put up decent numbers. He was selected to the 1963 NL All-Star team. However, the Mets were an abomination and Snider asked to be traded to a contending team.On opening day of 1964, Snider was sold to the San Francisco Giants and retired at the end of the season.Offered is a crystal clear 8" x 10" photograph of Snider in March of 1964, less than a month before his move to the San Francisco Giants in Mexico City for the exhibition series. Gorgeous photo of the Duke of Flatbush signing autographs for several school children.
