Ernie Lombardi (D. 1977) spent 17 seasons in the majors, most notably with the Cincinnati Reds and New York Giants. The slow-footed but powerful catcher won two National League batting titles (1938, 1942) and was named NL MVP in 1938. He helped lead Cincinnati to the 1940 World Series title. Despite his legendary lack of foot speed, Lombardi finished with a .306 career batting average. Inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1986.
Offered is a 4.25” x 1.25” cut down index card signed in red flair tipped pen by Ernie Lombardi. Circa 60s-70s. This was originally framed and matted.
Comes with an additional 8.5” x 11” modern print photo of Lombardi that you can display with his autograph.
