Hank Greenberg (d. 1986) was a dominant Detroit Tigers first baseman and outfielder and one of baseball’s most feared power hitters. A proud Jewish star, he won MVP awards in 1935 and 1940, hit 58 home runs in 1938, and drove in 183 runs in 1937. A four-time home run champion, he served four years in World War II. He finished his career with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1947, then moved into ownership and management roles with the Cleveland Indians. Inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1956.
Offered is an 8” x 10” Sport Magazine photo picturing Greenberg during his last season as a player with the Pirates in 1947 pictured with Honus Wagner & Billy Herman (team owner and movie star/singer, Bing Crosby is pictured in the upper left corner). Mounted to a backing board, giving this the feel of an actual photograph. Signed in black sharpie pen.
