Herb Adderley (1939-2020) was a Hall of Fame cornerback who played 12 NFL seasons (1961-1972), primarily with the Green Bay Packers. A Michigan State product, Adderley was a key member of Vince Lombardi's championship teams, winning five NFL titles including Super Bowls I and II. He intercepted 48 career passes, returning seven for touchdowns, and was selected to five Pro Bowls and six All-Pro teams. Known for his exceptional speed and coverage skills, Adderley was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1980. He finished his career with the Dallas Cowboys, adding another Super Bowl victory.Offered is an 8.5" x 11" handwritten signed 2 page letter on Adderley's business letterheadINCREDIBLE FOOTBALL CONTENT!!!! He writes:Hi Martin:Just a quick note to say hello and to thank you for your nice letter dated 4-26-89.You sound like you were a super athlete and got a bad break with an injury. All of the receivers were tuff in the N.F.L. however, Gary Collins and Kenny Moore came to my mind. Jim Brown and Gary's square were in my opinion the best running backs during the 60's and John Unitas the best Q.B. There were many great star players three of my teammates are the Hall of Fame & "Night Train" Lane, Deacon Jones, Gino Marchetti and many more.Reggie White & Randal Cunningham are my two favorite players. I know Reggie who is better man off of the field. I'm a Green Bay and Dallas fan now that Landry is gone; he deserved to go out the way he did because he did it to many of the guys who passed thru Dallas. He benched me in 1972 for personal reasons and the Cowboys[Page 2:]lost to the Redskins stopping us from going to three straight Super Bowls. Charlie Waters who tried to replace me was eaten alive by Charlie Taylor and Roy Jefferson. All of my teammates were pissed off because they knew I could shut both of them down.Anyway, I hope things are going well.Good Luck, Herb Adderley #26
