Les Horvath(D. 1995), the son of immigrant parents from Hungary, grew up in Cleveland. He lettered in football at Ohio State in 1940, 1941, 1942 and 1944. Horvath was right halfback on the 1942 national championship team. In 1943 he was in dental school and not eligible for football. In 1944 the rules were changed, and Horvath joined the Ohio State team as a tailback in the single wing and quarterback in the T formation. Ohio State went 9-0, won the Big Ten and ranked No. 2 nationally. Horvath rushed for 905 yards and passed for 345. He ranked second in the nation in rushing, third in total offense, was unanimous All-America, Most Valuable Player in the Big Ten, and won the Heisman Trophy. He graduated from dental school in 1945, joined the Navy as an ensign, and was discharged in July, 1947. Horvath played three years of pro football, 1947-49 (Rams and Browns), then practiced dentistry in Los Angeles after his football career ended.Howard "Hopalong" Cassady(deceased) was a star halfback at Ohio State University, winning the Heisman Trophy in 1955. Known for his speed and versatility, he led the Buckeyes to a national championship in 1954 and earned All-American honors twice. Cassady scored 37 touchdowns in his college career and was renowned for both offensive prowess and defensive skill. He was drafted by the Detroit Lions in 1956 and played eight seasons in the NFL. Inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1979, Cassady remains one of Ohio State's most celebrated and electrifying players.Offered is a fully intact Ohio State football program from October 22, 1994 vs. Purdue (Homecoming).The school honored past Ohio State football legends at the game and the program featured Les Horvath on the cover with a special tribute to him.This has been signed in black ballpoint ink by both Horvath and Hopalong Cassady who was also at the game.This was originally part of Horvath's personal collection.Horvath signed photos are next to impossible to find and this is pretty much it.This is perhaps a one-of-kind piece.PSA/DNA numbered hologram attached to the cover authenticating the autographs as AUTHENTIC.Additional LOA from the family of Les Horvath included.WOW!!!
