The Oshkosh All-Stars were a professional basketball team based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. From 1937 to 1949 they played in the National Basketball League, a forerunner to the NBA. The team appeared in the NBL finals five consecutive years (1938-1942), winning twice. The All-Stars also won the 1942 World Professional Basketball Tournament over the Detroit Eagles in ChicagoThe Cleveland Allmen Transfers were a professional basketball team in Cleveland, Ohio. It played in the National Basketball League, which formed in 1937. In 1949, this league joined with the Basketball Association of America to form the National Basketball Association.

The Sheboygan Red Skins were a professional basketball team from Sheboygan, Wisconsin, that played from the 1930s into the early 1950s. They competed in the National Basketball League (NBL) from 1938 to 1949, winning the 1942–43 NBL championship and regularly reaching title series.

In 1949 they became a charter franchise of the National Basketball Association, playing one NBA season (1949-50) with a 22-40 record and a playoff appearance.

We offer a scorecard that measures 8.25" x 11" from Saturday March 16, 1946. The All Stars beat the Redskins 68-42 at the South Park Junior High Gym in Wisconsin. The scorecard features an image of star Oshkosh star, Bob Carpenter (mentioning his NBL records).

This was game 4 of a 5 Game NBL Playoff series. Leroy (Lefty) Edwards put up 22 points in this winning effort that tied up the series.  Game 5 would go back to Sheboygan, which ultimately saw the Redskins take the series on their home turf.

 

Oshkosh featured players such as Fred Rehm, Bob Feerick, Gene Englund, Bob Carpenter, Erv Prasse (a teammate of Nile Kinnick's at Iowa), Eddie Riska, and Lefty Edwards.

 

Sheboygan featured Johnny Kotz, Bob Holm, Ed Dancker, Dick Schulz, Ken Suessens, and many other early pro pioneers.
