Ricky Watters is a former NFL running back renowned for his versatility and dynamic playmaking ability. A standout at Notre Dame, Watters helped lead the Fighting Irish to a national championship in 1988. Selected in the second round of the 1991 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers, he made an immediate impact, demonstrating his skills as both a rusher and a receiver out of the backfield.Watters' career reached its peak with the 49ers, where he was instrumental in their Super Bowl XXIX victory during the 1994 season. In the championship game, he scored three touchdowns, tying a Super Bowl record, and cementing his reputation as a clutch performer. Over his 10-year NFL career, Watters also played for the Philadelphia Eagles and Seattle Seahawks, earning five Pro Bowl selections and consistently ranking among the league leaders in yards from scrimmage. His unique combination of power, speed, and receiving ability made him a cornerstone of every offense he joined. When Watters retired in 2001, he had amassed over 10,000 rushing yards and 4,000 receiving yards, making him one of the most productive all-purpose backs in NFL history. Though sometimes remembered for his controversial "For who? For what?" remark, Watters' impact on the game endures, as he remains an example of a complete and durable running back who excelled at every level of competition.Offered is an 8" x 10" color photo Watters in action.
