The Chicago Bears, champions last year of the National Football League, were somewhat restored in Chicago fans’ esteem today, following their 28-7 exhibition conquest of the Washington Redskins.
The Bears, beaten 16-0 last month by the College All-Stars, established last night before 54,723 fans at Soldiers Field that the weeks of extra training have sharpened their offense.
Sid Luckman’s pitching arm was back in form, for one thing. Sid threw two touchdown passes to tall Ken Kavanaugh in the first period and another Luckman to Kavanaugh toss helped to set up another Chicago score in the third period.
Hugh Gallarneau later smashed over from the Redskin one.
Offered is a full ticket from this game.
