Just one season removed from winning the World Series; the 1927 St. Louis Cardinals finished 92-61, good for second place in the National League, just one and a half games behind the Pittsburgh Pirates. The season played out against the backdrop of a blockbuster offseason trade that sent Rogers Hornsby to the Giants in exchange for Frankie Frisch, who went on to set NL records for assists and chances accepted at second base. Jesse Haines and Flint Rhem anchored the rotation, while first baseman Jim Bottomley drove in 124 runs.

Offered is a toned game used Official National League (John Heydler) baseball. Signed by 22 members of the Cards

Highlights include the autographs of:

5 Hall of FamersGrover Cleveland Alexander (D. 1950), Jesse Haines, Chick Hafey, Frankie Frisch, and Billy Southworth

Other key autographs include: Bob O’Farrell (player/manager), Bill Sherdel, Ray Blades, Bob McGraw, Hi Bell (D. 1949), George Toporcer, Frank Snyder (D. 1962), Les Bell, Johnny Schulte, Taylor Douthit, Flint Rhem, Tommy Thevenow, Art Reinhart (D. 1946 at age 47), Wattie Holm (D. 1950 at age 48), and Carlisle Littlejohn.
